CREATING UNAPOLOGETIC FICTION & NON FICTION PRODUCTIONS ADDRESSING SOCIETAL TRAUMA

Hi you can call me Jay
Creator & Presenter

Jay's Story
Jouvarnii aka as Jay, has always been fascinated with sociology and psychology.
Exploring what and why people think and act the way they do, is her driving force for her current studies in psychology and criminology.

As a teenager in 2012, she was approached by Dave Paul, the founder and director of UGN JAMZ, to present a radio and talk show for her peers. Jay presented a weekly talk show, playing music and discussing topics that would challenge her peers to think about the choices they were making in their lives and how it would impact them in the future. Jay's presenting was however cut short at the station, due to sitting for her GCSE exams, in the same year.

In 2013, Jay was also invited to take part in the BBC Radio Leicester, talk project, with her mum Anna aka HannaH, where the two spoke openly about the struggles her mother faced as a young mum, trying her best to raise her and her siblings in today's society.

This exposure fuelled Jay's interests in presenting and here is where she will grow as she talks about topics crippling society today on a new talk show entitled 'Sharp Point', to hear from those facing mental health decline due to trauma.
The shows name pays homage to her granddads autobiography entitled, 'Being Black at the Sharp Point'.

Jouvarnii's Debut as a Radio Presenter
Jouvarnii was offered the rare opportunity to Join UGN Jamz as a young radio presenter, where she hosted her own show called "Teen Perspective"
